7th Grade: Week 5

For the week beginning February 23rd, 2016

Week 5:

Google A Day Challenge #8 – Geography: This week and next you will be getting your GAD Challenges back that have been graded. Overall many of you are on the right track, but not quite there yet. Take the time I am giving you in class to fix the various issues you have with your challenges. There is a rubric attached to each of the assignments to help you in the revision process. You do not have the choice on whether or not to fix your mistakes. YOU MUST GO BACK AND REVISE. Make your corrections and the be sure to PRINT OUT the newest version. Print it with the rubric, staple and put your name on top. If you turn in revisions while I am gone, please hand them to the guest teacher to place in the blue folder that says “Needs Grading.”

Blogging: Challenge Post #2

    • Category: Challenge Post #
    • Tags: Holiday
    • Featured Image: Find an image that represents the holiday of your choice.
    • Post Title: {Name of your holiday}
    • Content: There are holidays for almost everything! Do some research and find an appropriate holiday like National Popcorn Day. Use a holiday in which you can post information about its purpose and potential history, how do people celebrate this holiday (or how should we), and do other countries celebrate it? If you would prefer to find a holiday from another country and answer all of the same questions as above you may do so.

Financial Literacy Project: Last week we finished the in-class practice spreadsheet and you were challenged to complete the “Independent Practice Spreadsheet – Buying a Used Car” on your own. If you have not completed this you will need to do so quickly. The question can be found on the bottom of page 8 in your “textbook”. We will begin reviewing the next chapter and I have assigned a vocabulary sheet for the chapter 2 in Google Classroom. You need to type up the definitions from the book for this challenge. You also have a quiz in Google classroom over the vocabulary for chapter 1. You cannot use your notes or text book for this so just do your best. You will be given the opportunity to retake it if necessary.
